Residences, grocery store, abortion clinic

Now there’s a ‘what’s wrong with this picture?’ snapshot of suburban Aurora, Illinois at the site of a huge abortion clinic set to open next month. There are plenty of other things hidden in it, too…..which was the idea Planned Parenthood had in the first place.

Neighbors thought they were seeing the completion of the “Gemini Health Center,” just as the sign says. So did the painters, carpenters, electricians and other tradesmen who have been working on the project for the last eight months.

Just last week, Aurora Councilman Chris Beykirch learned that Planned Parenthood was moving in.

“Frankly, I’m surprised we were able to keep it a secret for so long,” Steve Trombley, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood/Chicago Area, told the Tribune.

One blog says construction workers did get suspicious when they had to install bullet proof glass there.

The suburban Beacon News ran an opinion poll last week asking readers if the area needed an abortion clinic. Not sure if it wound up having any impact, but it made people think about it. The Beacon’s blog asks readers now to consider whether making abortion easily accessible is a good idea.

Steve Trombley, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood/Chicago Area, bemoaned the fact that women in this area currently have to travel to Chicago for an abortion at a PP clinic. There are surprisingly few hospitals and health providers locally that offer abortion services, even in cases of medical necessity.

Whatever else the president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Chicago Area may bemoan, the fact is there are at least a few abortion clinics much closer to Aurora than Chicago. What he laments is that they’re evidently not Planned Parenthood clinics, so PP loses out on that profit.

And another thing….the area has no lack of true women’s health services. Planned Parenthood’s wordplay about ‘reproductive health’ and ‘choice’ is fooling fewer people all the time. Calling this abortion clinic “Gemini Health Center” might have somehow snuck it under radar until now, but Planned Parenthood knows that this new fortress is on the map of the pro-life community armed with no more than rosaries and crisis pregnancy center information. Planned Parenthood’s clinics don’t need bullet proof glass. But nothing can stop the penetrating truth about abortion from reaching women eventually.
