Get ready

It’s October, and there are five weeks left before the elections. I would love to see all the issues out there debated, probed, challenged and discussed with intellectual honesty, open to the truth of every matter. But we all know that’s not going to happen.

So…..prepare yourselves for the runup to the elections by becoming the most informed citizens you can, and most informed on the issue at the core of every other issue — life.

Two big issues that are on the ballot in this election are stem cell research, in Missouri, and the abortion ban in South Dakota. They are huge. That’s why there’s been a massive and aggressive campaign of disinformation in full throttle over the summer, and it’s cranking up for the home stretch. When a lie is repeated often and forcefully, and then spread by a complicit media, it is believed by most people. Hitler is a case in point.

I am amazed by the distorted reporting in the most elite mainstream media about these issues. It’s either willful to influence the vote, or it’s laziness in not researching the stories well enough. Or both.

In the next five weeks, it’s vital to actively pursue and spread the truth. Here’s a site with the schedule of a highly informative six-week television progam that will have some of the best clarity on this vote that you’ll find anywhere. Fr. Frank Pavone is one of the best, strongest and clearest leaders for life. It’s unapologetic truth and natural law. I’d love to see people who believe differently on these issues to at least listen — and hear.

On the Missouri proposal to fund embryonic stem cell research, that would also prohibit any limitations on producing cloned embryos, here’s an excellent analysis and resource. Get familiar with the issues there, because whether or not you’re in Missouri, it’s coming your way.

Same is true with the South Dakota referendum on the “Women’s Health and Human Life Protection Law,” also known as the abortion ban. Nobody has done such comprehensive research and written such an authoritative report as the South Dakota Task Force to Study Abortion. It prompted the ban, and Planned Parenthood and NARAL have been waging a mighty battle to influence the outcome of that referendum because there’s so much at stake. Here’s an analysis on that.

And about political responsibility in general, here are a couple of good resources for now. Many more to come in the days ahead.
