Mea culpa!
So glad I caught this email from the good Fr. Doyle in time to correct my error!!
Down below, I made a mistake that I have now corrected. But instead of a hasty correction and moving on, this gives me the chance to make his excellent point – which was actually a reminder:Â There are three women Doctors of the Church: Teresa of Avila, Catherine of Siena and Therese of Lisieux.
I knew that. Admire all three of these women greatly. Read many of their writings. And try to live like they did, and still do through their writings. Momentary slip of the mind.
I take heart in that Teresa of Avila was often frustrated by having so much busy work to attend to, her mind was “crowded” when she tried to concentrate. And the more you try to clear it, she said, the more it gets filled with other thoughts!
It happened for a reason. I received Fr. Doyle’s wish for God’s blessings upon my. Thank you, Fr.
And he ended his note with this beautiful prayer:
Iesu, mitis et humilis Corde,
Fac cor nostrum secundum Cor tuum!
Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like unto thine!
