More and more abortion frontlines

Now it’s Denver

Denver, Colorado may become the next battleground over the building of a new abortion facility in secret. Pro-life advocates in this mountain city are upset that Planned Parenthood is placing a new abortion business in the heart of an African-American community and that it’s beginnings are shrouded in secrecy.

That’s the latest of Planned Parenthood’s ever-changing strategies to spread abortion. Get in under cover without the community’s awareness, then get into that community’s schools and give the students abortion propaganda.

This strategy erupted in Aurora, Illinois recently, and the aftershocks are forceful.

Planned Parenthood concealed its ownership of a huge new abortion facility scheduled to open soon in a Chicago suburb, and pro-life advocates – and at least one city official – are questioning whether the abortion provider can mislead officials without repercussions.

No. There have been huge repercussions.

The new abortion center in Aurora that Planned Parenthood is expected to open within weeks saw more than 1,200 pro-life advocates protest and pray there over the weekend. What started as a small group of local pro-life advocates weeks ago has turned into a national movement against the new facility.

Meanwhile….

The city of Aurora has hired an attorney to determine if the new Planned Parenthood abortion business there is legitimate. The abortion center has seen thousands of protesters after pro-life advocates discovered Planned Parenthood used a separate name to get its construction permits.

Planned Parenthood got around public knowledge and opposition by calling the building the Gemini Health Center in all of its building plans and documents.

Now, responding to the controversy that generated, the city has hired an outside law firm to review the approval process and make sure the city government followed the law in approving it.

Concerned with the natural law and moral order, the lives and souls at risk in his diocese, Joliet’s Bishop Joseph Sartain has written a letter to his flock.

As Catholics, we will stand proudly and consistently “For Life” in our diocese. Rather than collapsing in negativity, we call on all people of good will to respond with positive action. Every step we take must be peaceful.

Unfortunately, peaceful demonstrators are often met with agitated resistance.

It speaks for itself.

But Bishop Sartain speaks for the pro-life movement.

Prayer is our most powerful weapon. Pray that the Gospel of Life will take root and flourish in the seven counties that make up our diocese. Pray for all pregnant women in need, particularly those who find themselves in seemingly desperate situations. Pray for a conversion of heart in those who support and work at abortion facilities. Pray for healing of those who suffer the impact of abortion…

May we never tire of proclaiming the dignity and worth of every human life. May we never tire of serving the vulnerable and their caregivers with generous hearts. And may we never cease to pray for the day when all people, and all societies, will defend the life of every human from conception to natural death.
