Targeting embryonic stem cells

To get this straight, we need to keep repeating the truth. Embryonic stem cell research takes human life. And it has never proven successful in one case yet. In fact, it causes tumors in repeated experiments. Adult stem cells have provided successful treatments with no medical or ethical downside.

And yet, the biotech industry has turned enough heads around with false publicity that people equate ‘stem cell research’ with embryonic, and people believe they have to support it to be compassionate.

Now, the new Congress is about to throw its weight behind the push forward in experimenting with more human embryonic life. My friends at Pro-life Wisconsin sent along a notice that the issue is about to hit the floor again.

As the first session of the 110th Congress opens, the new Democrat majority has made the federal funding of embryo destructive research an immediate priority.  On January 11th the U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote on legislation that would federally fund the destruction of human embryos for stem cell research.

I would like to hear a good, intellectually honest explanation of why they believe this is justified.
