The March for Life, the President and the Press
Â
The annual event takes place today as you no doubt know. We can always count on massive numbers of pro-life faithful turning out for the event in Washington, President Bush speaking up on behalf of the sanctity of life, and the press playing down the occasion and putting down the cause, by their choice language.
Of course, they call the March for Life rally an “anti-abortion protest”.
President Bush on Tuesday voiced support for anti-abortion demonstrators attending this year’s “March for Life” rally marking the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision…
“Thirty-five years ago today the United States Supreme Court declared and decided that under the law an unborn child is not considered a person, but we know many things about the unborn,” said Bush…
In remarks being broadcast to other demonstrators later in the day, Bush said that biology confirms that from the start, each unborn child is a separate individual with his or her own genetic code.
I’d like to hear an intelligent attempt to refute that fact. Just to start with some honesty.
“Babies can now survive outside the mother’s womb at younger and younger ages,” he said. “And the fingers and toes and beating hearts that we can see on an unborn child’s ultrasound come with something that we cannot see: a soul.”
