This battle is getting huge
Planned Parenthood snuck what’s reported to be their largest abortion clinic in the country into the suburban town of Aurora west of Chicago, and since that became public it has grown into a full pitched battle to prevent it from opening. These kinds of things have happened on a smaller scale in other parts of the country and even in other Chicago suburban towns. But this one is different.
At the Aurora City Council meeting a couple of weeks ago, over 120 citizens filed for permission to speak, and each received their three minutes to be heard. All but two were pro-life, and the meeting was one for the ages, starting around 6 pm and lasting until around 1:30 am. Two women were there that night to argue in favor of the abortion clinic. The rest were pro-life citizens of all ages, and they included a former abortion clinic worker. Accounts of the amazing events since then are detailed at the Families Against Planned Parenthood blog.
One of the area’s pro-life leaders sent an email message today with this update on the latest Aurora City Council meeting.
Quite a different atmosphere than the August 28 meeting. This time the courtyard in front of the building was filled with Planned Parenthood people. Most of them were proudly wearing their pink Planned Parenthood tee shirts and holding pink signs that proclaimed that “This family supports Planned Parenthood.”
That sounds like an odd concept. The children of such a family will someday know how lucky they were to survive. And wonder if some of their siblings didn’t.

Then we started to sing, Ave Maria, Holy God, We Praise They Name, God Bless America, Amazing Grace, just so many beautiful hymns of praise and thanksgiving. At some point the “ladies” in pink started to sing 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall but it didn’t last long.
