We elected them for this?!

What’s really going on when members of our U.S. Senate resort to invective instead of anything resembling reason and intellectual honesty in Senate debate? The answer is dishonest, intolerant, knee-jerk reaction.

These votes over moral issues certainly reveal the real person behind the office.

Sen. Charles Shumer really does owe Christians an apology. He, and his colleagues like Sen. Tom Harkin who argued over stem cells in similar vein (or is that vain?), can hear from any of the country’s 86 percent Christian population, at www.senate.gov.

In fact, let both of your senators hear from you, whether appreciation for a job well done, or the expectation that they start doing it better. As in, with honor and respect for us all.
