It’s never too early…

…to work on world peace. The Vatican released the theme for the next World Day of Peace today, though that event takes place at the beginning of 2007. Found a good report on it at CNA, though here’s the bottom line:

“any offense to the person is a threat to peace; any threat to peace is an offense to the truth of the person: ‘The human person is the heart of peace’.”  

Is this too simple for us to get?! Judging from the bombing and violence inflicted on whole regions of the Middle East right now, today’s Vatican release was an act of desparation.
