Saving lives

That was fast.

Within a day after some members of the Senate tried to get federal funding for embryonic stem cell research, President Bush said ‘what don’t you understand about ‘No’ – or at least he sort of said that. In the first veto of his six years of presidency, Bush fulfilled the firm promise that he would uphold the defense of all human life.

Actually, a lot of folks don’t understand stem cells, and the earlier post here below has some clear and comprehensive information that explains the issue well enough for you to know the major media have not been covering it well. Or fairly.

In this Senate go-round, good  news is that Senators from both sides of the debate came together remarkably, working out a way to go forward on stem cell science in a direction  that’s morally acceptable to everyone. Because most everyone has compassion and wants to relieve suffering and save lives. And plenty of our Senators extend that to life in its earliest stages.

For those who don’t, the President stood in the breach.
